Gavin Walker: Gavin joined Strathclyde Police Pipe Band in 1994 and is currently P/Sgt under P/M James Wark. During his early years in the Kyle of Lochalsh he was instructed in light music and piobaireachd by Iain MacFadyen. On moving to Dunblane he continued his instruction under the late P/M Jimmy MacGregor and later was a pupil of Andrew Wright. Gavin has since enjoyed a great deal of success on the solo circuit. One of his earliest prizes was the Bi-centennial medal at the Northern Meeting, which he won three years in succession, a feat never previously achieved in the long history of the Northern Meeting. As an adult he has won the Mod medal for Piobaireachd twice and an array of prizes in the light music contests. His previous pipe band experience was at the Royal Burgh of Sterling Pipe Band under P/M David Methven, a noted solo piper. Constable Walker is a patrol officer operating in Glasgow city centre.

Donald MacKay: Donald started the pipes in school, Alness, at the age of ten under the instruction of Pipe Major John D. Burgess MBE. At the age of 15 be joined the Queens Own Highlanders as Junior Leader and served in the Army for 11 years, progressing to the rank of Corporal in the newly amalgamated Highlanders regiment. During this time he has played and served all over the world including for royalty and has been the lone piper at the Edinburgh Tattoo. In 1996 he passed the Army Pipe Major's Course at Edinburgh Castle. He is a regular competitor on the Highland Games circuit and in the last four years has won 19 1st places, 26 2nd places, 28 3rd places, 30 4th places and 9 5th places in solo competitions. Donald joined Strathclyde Police in April 2001.

Neil Walker: Neil, who is the younger brother of Gavin, began piping at the young age of eight in the Kyle of Lochalsh,Ross-shire. He received instruction from Iain MacFadyen and later from P/M Jimmy MacGregor and Andrew Wright when his family moved to Dunblane, Perthshire. This excellent background bore fruit in Neil's early solo career when he won the Inverchapel Challenge Trophy for Piobaireachd at Cowal and obtained the title of overall Junior Champion at the Northern Meeting in 1992. He has sustained his level of success into the senior circuit including 3rd place in the Silver Medal at the Argyllshire Gathering. Neil is also an experienced Highland Dancer, having been taught initially at the Robertson School, Inverness, and later by three times World Champion Irene MacKechnie and the equally respected Wilma Tolmie. Constable Walker joined the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band in 1995 and is a patrol officer in Glasgow city centre.

Neil Smith: Neil is from the Isle of Lewis and began piping at the age of eleven under the instruction of Angus MacLeod, brother of P/M Donald MacLeod. Later he was taught by P/M Iain Morrison, ex-Queen’s Own Highlanders. As a junior, Neil was overall Champion at the Northern Meeting, Inverness. In 1991 he won the Silver Medal for Piobaireachd at the Northern Meeting having finished in the prize list on three previous occasions. In the same year he won the Highlands and Islands young piper of the year. Other prizes won include 2nd in the MSR at the National Mod in Govan and 3rd in the Gold Medal at the Skye Gathering. Due to work commitments, Neil has not competed since 1995. However he recently began competing with Strathclyde Police Pipe Band, This has coincided with a return to the solo competitive scene. He recently won several prizes at High Games including 1st in the marches at North Uist Games. Constable Smith is a patrol officer in Glasgow operating in both uniform and plain clothes.
