SOLO PIPING 2014
Saturday February 1st
|
Thank you once again to Oldham Scottish Pipe Band who hosted this event. This is becoming one of our favourite venues for these competitions. This year we opted to use the main area of the hall rather than the stage and it proved to be a popular move. Once again we owe a great debt to Bernadette Cahill who did such a great job as a steward to keep the flow of competitors moving well. A big thank you to the competitors who entered and who provided us with such a good standard of play throughout the day. Thanks also to Owen and Pauline Nash who contributed some McCallum T-shirts and hats to the raffle, and others, including Ken Reid, who contributed other gifts. The raffle is an important part of the day and plays a really significant role in helping to keep us financially viable. Your support in this area is really well appreciated.
Our adjudicator for the day was Cameron Edgar who, once again, did an excellent job with his usual very informative summary sheets, always noted by their close attention to detail but always delivered in a spirit of positive encouragement.
