SOLO PIPING 2005
(Sat. Feb 26th)
A very successful and enjoyable day with 14 competitors taking part in the main events with another 12 playing in the Novice Chanter section. The competitions in the main hall started at 10am and finished approximately 4pm, no mean feat when you consider there were 51 individual performances to get through. The stewards for the day, Jim Dillon and Ray Prendergast, did a sterling job of keeping the events moving forward at a brisk pace, even perhaps a little too brisk at first as the judge would have liked a little more time to finish writing up each crit sheet before the next competitor arrived. Our thanks go also to Cameron Edgar, our adjudicator for all the main events, and to Jim White for judging the Novice Chanter section. The 12 who took part in the Novice Chanter section were: Sailesh Khimji, Prudip Naran, Kishor Vaghji, Scot Shacklady, Cameron Neve, Ashis Naran, Sanjay Naran, Kersheaup Vagadia, Lalji Khimji, Morag Hamilton, Amit Khimji and Dinesh Karshan.
