The Duke of Atholl was the Patron of the Liverpool Scottish Regimental Association Pipes And Drums.
In 1991 he invited the band up to Blair Castle to take part in the annual review of the Atholl Highlanders.
We stayed for the weekend at the barracks in Dunkeld. After the parade on Saturday afternoon we returned to the Castle in the evening for a marvellous reception in the Main Hall. During the evening Gordon Duncan played for us. On Sunday the combined bands of the Atholl Highlanders and the Liverpool Scottish performed at the Highland Games which were held in the grounds of the Castle.
