The Rose Fletcher Memorial Competition 2022 |
||||
Competitors had until May 7th to submit their entries. Alvis Kerr, our judge for this year, then had a week to assess their performances. On Sunday May 15th we published the results below and sent every competitor their comment sheets from the judge. Now all visitors to this site have the opportunity to view the performances just as if they had been present at the competition. Click on any of the entries below to view each performance. Competitors had the option to remain private if preferred which is why some of the links below are dormant. We are very grateful to McCallum Bagpipes who have once again sponsored this competition so generously. The prize-giving will be published here next Sunday, 22nd May. It takes a little time to organise that as we canvass all the competitors beforehand to see which prizes they would appreciate the most. |

At the end of the competition Alvis had these words to share with all the competitors who took part. |

Out of 22 competitors, everyone got something they wanted. 15 got their 1st choice. 4 got their 2nd choice, 5 got their 3rd choice, 3 got their 4th choice, 5 got their 5th choice. 13 got two prizes, both of which they wanted. To end this event I'd like to give another great vote of thanks to McCallum Bagpipes who donated all these prizes and have really put the icing on the cake for all the competitors who took part in this competition. It has been a great success. I am really impressed with the effort that has been put in by so many of the competitors and I know in several cases just how much work was involved in producing their videos. Onwards and upwards.. In the Autumn we will be staging our 2nd recital on the same lines as last year. Hopefully we will see many of you taking part. |
